Thomas “Duffy” E. Duffy, of Airmont, NY, passed away February 25, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY, he was 85. Tom was born November 21, 1929 in Tarrytown, NY to Thomas and Josephine Duffy. Tom wed his life-long love, Viola on August 5, 1950, they were married for 64 years. Tom was a Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the VFW and awarded 5 medals of recognition for his service. He loved working in his garden, building doll houses, playing lotto and OTB.
Tom is survived by his wife, Viola; his seven children, Thomas Duffy, Josephine Black, Alice Duffy, Howard Duffy, Irene Duffy-Rando, Maryann Pagliocca, and Elizabeth Arnold; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Edward Duffy and granddaughter Alicia Black.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern, NY at 10am on Saturday, February 28, 2015 with the interment to follow at FW Loescher Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY.
