Tom was born on August 21, 1955 in New City, NY to Dorothy (Dot) and John (Bid) Vandrbeek. He graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from Princeton University where he was an All-American lacrosse player. In 1991 he married Betty (nee MacKenzie). Tom was a well-known and respected engineer. He was professionally and civically active in communities across Rockland County and throughout the Hudson Valley.
In his beloved wife of 24 years and his parents, Tom is survived by his daughters Zandrina and Alexxa, two granddaughters, brother Tim (Debbie), sisters Heidi Smith Perrow (David), Holly Cook (David) and Wendy Vanderbeek, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A memorial celebration of Tom’s life will be held Saturday, March 19, at 10:00 a.m. at All Souls Community Church, 81 Washington Ave, Suffern, NY.
