

Aida Celis Castigador Christiansen , age 89 passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024. She was born in Calinog, Iloilo Philippines on June 18th, 1934 to Jose Concepcion and Flora Celis Castigador. As she grew up her earliest ambitions were to be a teacher or a nurse. She was very athletic. She was a declaimer and was crowned as Miss Calinog in High School. She played college basketball, enjoyed winning a volleyball championship in high school, and was recognized as a high skip and jump winner. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She was accomplished in her career and served as Head Nurse in the Pediatric Department in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and in New Jersey’s Hoboken Hospital.
While she was successful in her career, her proudest achievements were in her family. She loved her children very much. Aida enjoyed writing, sewing, crochet, cross stitch (she made six Last Supper cross stitch patterns) and a large angel that she was very proud of which is in a frame.
Aida was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Flora Castigador, her first husband, Salvador Lindaya Nebres, and her second husband, William (Bill) Vikers Christiansen.
She had a large family that she loved very much. Her siblings are Jacinto, Jose, Trifonito, Vicente, Victor and Henedina. Her children are Evelyn Tiangco (Enrique), Arnold Nebres (Yogi), Arthur Nebres (Cherry) (Lyn), Josefa Pagdanganan (Manuel), Ma. Rita Nepomuceno (Mel), and Anthony Nebres (Ruby).
Her step-children are John Christiansen (Sandy), Dale Christiansen (Anne), Paul Christiansen (Jane), and Cynthia Pace (Dr. Loyal).
Her grandchildren are Christian, Jonathan, Raechel, Lyka, Michelle, Michael, Chacha, Mecca, Rafael, Carmela Anne, Manuel, Miguel, Patricia Marie, Chris, Nikko, Ia and Kevin. Her great-grandchildren are Quiana, Vaughn Liam, Bree, Hudson Eli, Ken Ken, Kai Kai, Elena, Izzy, Eagle, Levi, Luca, and Dante.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479 on Monday, January 15th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. A visitation with rosary will be held at the Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 SW FWY, Sugar Land, TX 77478, on Monday, January 15th, 2024 from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. The rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. by Deacon Patrick Kinney.
