

Alan Eugene Demarest, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on January 22, 1947, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Alan was a longtime and active resident of Sugar Land, Texas.
Alan graduated from Lakeview High School and went on to attend Kellogg Community College, both located in Battle Creek, Michigan. He built a successful career as a Railroad Account Executive with Canadian National Railroad and later as an Agency President with Mode Transportation and was an esteemed member of the Transportation Club of Houston.
He was married to his devoted wife, Krystn G. Demarest, for 50 years. Alan is also survived by a loving family, including daughter, Stacey Demarest of Katy, Texas, and sons, Dustin Demarest of Richardson, Texas, and Brady Demarest (Sarah) of Chevy Chase, Maryland. Alan was also a proud grandfather to Ellie Demarest and Anna Demarest. He is survived by his brother, Eugene Demarest of St. Charles, MO, and his half-brother Larry Demarest of Defiance, OH. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene L. Demarest of Battle Creek, MI, and Colleen J. Seymour of Venice, FL, and his half-brother, William E. Demarest of Battle Creek, MI.
Alan had a passion for woodwork, golf, and tennis. He loved playing basketball and was an avid fan of the Houston Rockets. His love for music was evident in his enjoyment of Motown tunes. Alan relished a good veal marsala, and Saturday nights were always reserved for dinner with his beloved wife.
In addition to his professional and personal pursuits, Alan was an active member of Providence Presbyterian Church, contributing to his community with the same generosity and kindness that defined his life.
