

Amparo Torres Gonzales, 97, known to her family and friends as “Amparito” and “Momo,” left this earthly life on the morning of May 1st at the family home in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born in Houston, was raised, and lived most of her life in Magnolia Park. She operated her own beauty shop for many years in Pecan Park.
Amparo is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Army veteran Antonio Joseph Gonzales, her parents Anastacio and Victoria Torres, her sister Ortencia Perez, brother Alejandro Torres, and her daughter Viola Marie Muñiz (Richard).
She is survived by her sister Leonor Mendiola, and children Rosemary Rodriguez (Rick), JoAnn Nelson (Greg), James Gonzales (Anna), and Ida Jean Buckle (Kenneth). Momo is survived by fifteen grandchildren: Richard Muñiz Jr. (Cindy), Christopher Muñiz, Joe Muñoz (Flor), Marissa Villanueva, Toni Michelle Cooper, Tami Hubinger (John), Traci Harrell (Tyler), Charles Cooper, James Gonzales Jr., Jake Gonzales (Jerry Ann), Angel Gonzales (Jeff), Paul Buckle, Michael Buckle (Brittany), Matthew Buckle (Lisa), and Victoria Marie Melendez (Hector).
Amparo is survived by 23 great-grandchildren: Brittany Muñiz (Luis), Brandon Muñiz (Gina), Melody Muñiz, Nathan Muñiz, Adrian Rodriguez, Ian Muñoz, Alezay Muñoz, Ariel Villanueva, Trae Villanueva, Joe Cash Villanueva, Kinley Hubinger, Jackson Hubinger, Olivia Hubinger, Waylan Beau Harrell, Elsie Bell Harrell, Noel Elliott, Ethan Elliott, Jake Gonzales Jr., Atlas Gonzales, Stella Vazquez, Paige Buckle, Owen Buckle, Benjamin Buckle, Carina Buckle, and Katelyn Marie Buckle. She is survived by 5 great-great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Riley, Alex, Lincoln, and Avani.
