Chima Anthony Ochiagha

Chima Anthony Ochiagha was born on the 2nd day of February,1953, being the sixth among eleven children of late Sir Bernard C and Lady Bernadette U Ochiagha of Ibeme, Isiala Mbano, Imo State, Nigeria. He is survived by his son, Chike (spouse - Sarah), and three grandkids -- Kellen, Cameron and Zayah. Chima Anthony and his siblings were blessed to have the best parents anyone could ever wish for -- Catholic parents who were leaders in their community, state and beyond, who lived and modelled Christian virtues centered on basic goodness of the human spirit.  His mid teenage years coincided with the Nigeria-Biafra civil war but following his secondary school graduation in record time from Madonna High School, Chima earned his degrees in Computer Science and Accounting from Winona State University, Minnesota.  As an experienced Systems Administrator and IT Strategist, Chima thoroughly enjoyed his professional career as an entrepreneur. He lived in Minnesota most of his life, then relocated to Houston, TX; Chike distinctly remembers helping his Dad pack for that move in 2006. Chima Anthony lived in Houston until his passing on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

We will miss him dearly, but he will always be in our hearts and fondly remembered by all of us -- his son and daughter-in-law and grandkids, his brothers and sisters, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, many nieces and nephews, cousins, etc, as well as numerous friends and others who got to experience Chima's generous and gregarious spirit.  His sudden illness and hospitalization in the last few weeks came as a shock to all of us, since he hadn't previously had any medical issues.  We're saddened by his passing, but we're comforted by his good spirit, knowing that our Almighty and Merciful God knows best, as his name encapsulates. (Chima is Igbo for 'God knows best'.)

A visitation for Chima will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 5th St, Missouri City, Texas 77489, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
