I learned of David’s passing in the latest issue of the Penn Stater alumni magazine. David was my organic chem lab TA when I was an undergrad chemical engineering major at Penn State. I found him to be knowledgeable, helpful, and affable, and when I had to TA the same lab course as a graduate student 10 years later, I did my best to show my students the same patience and helpfulness that David showed me. We met David and his family through baseball and are shocked and saddened by his death. He was a great father with a gentle nature and a kind demeanor. Prayers to the Flosser family during this very difficult time!

Each time I talked to David, it was clear he had a quiet way about him. It always made people feel like it was ok to be quiet as well — never pressured anyone into small talk that was uncomfortable.
