Our beloved mother Dorothy Clarissa James passed away at the age of 96 years. Dorothy was a loving wife to Roy Paul James (1986), three daughters Sharon (John Pisciotta), April (William Geiser) and Susan (Massimo Pietropaolo), ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy possessed a strong and deep faith rooted in her Catholic beliefs and the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi. Her faith, and family, motivated her during years of volunteer service to her Holy Family Parish in Pueblo, Colorado spanning more than sixty-five years. Dorothy was one of the longest serving members of the Secular Franciscan Order at her parish, where she established lifelong friendships through common service and spiritual growth. She was a devoted follower of the teachings of St. Francis and chose to spread his message serving as formation leader and sponsoring new initiates into the order. Dorothy also volunteered in a variety of roles serving on the parish council, in both liturgical and eucharistic ministries, and as a religious educator of all age groups. She lived a good life spreading spiritual knowledge and caring for others.
Those who knew our mother will forever remember her as one who lived life with faith in God and a deep abiding love and devotion to her family and friends.
Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church 2827 Lakeview Ave., Pueblo, Colorado 81005 with the vigil service and rosary on Thursday, June 27th at 6:00pm and the funeral mass on Friday, June 28th at 10:00am.
