

We gather to celebrate the life of Esther Evetts, a devout Christian and beloved wife of Sr. Chief and Sgt. Sammy Nelson Evetts, who preceded Esther. Her unwavering faith and gentle spirit touched all who knew her.
Esther was a devoted mother and a proud Fightin’ Texas Aggie Mom to her only son, Danny Ray Evetts, and a cherished mother-in-law to Lisa Evetts. She is preceded in death by her parents, John C. and Rebecca Mayorga Gonzales, and her siblings, Reynalda Gonzales Kassen, Alex Gonzales, and John Gonzales, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her surviving siblings: Lydia Gonzales Cantu, Norma Gonzales Mayer, Robert Conception Gonzales, Lawrence Sam Gonzales, and John Anthony Gonzales.
For nearly 40 years, Esther poured her love and dedication into her life's work as the proud owner of Esther Evetts Child Care in Sugar Land. There, she lovingly nurtured and raised multiple generations of children, leaving an indelible mark on countless young lives. Her warmth, patience, and caring nature created a haven where children flourished.
Esther's legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed byher family, friends, and the many children whose lives she enriched.
A Celebration of Life for Esther will be held Monday, May 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Following the Celebration of Life there will be a committal service at 1:00 PM at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
