Jack was born to Joe and Mary Ferro in Houston, Texas, on November 28, 1943. He graduated from St. Pius X High School in Houston before attending the University of Houston and then serving in the Air Force Reserves. He worked for the family business Ferro Grocery Store, and in 1964 he met the love of his life, Marilyn McDowell. They spent years working together in the grocery and furniture business as they started their family. Married in October 1965, Jack and Marilyn have one son, Steven Jack, born in 1969.
Jack worked for Finger Furniture for 25 years, where he rose from salesman to Vice President of Merchandising before his retirement in 2007. Jack was a loyal, hardworking, and highly valued manager. It was said by those who worked with him that he had the highest integrity and respected everyone at all levels of the company.
After retiring from Finger Furniture, Jack pursued a quieter life closer to his son and grandchildren in Sugar Land. Through the years, Jack enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son, grandson, cousins, and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Ferro. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn, son Steven and his wife Julie, his sister JoAnn Mandola and her husband, Tony, and his grandchildren, Brett Ferro and Layne Bulow.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 4:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478, followed by a reception. A burial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Garden of Gethsemani, Lakeview Section, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023
