

She was born on May 27, 1925 and received her education through high school in Rockdale, Texas. Many of her high school classmates remained close friends throughout her life. Julie completed her education at the University of Texas at Austin. She worked in the field of nutrition and later as an elementary teacher in Houston.
She was a member of Bellaire Christian Church, serving as Sunday school teacher, elder and chairperson of the Board. She later transferred her church membership to Bethany Christian Church.
She was a member of Riverbend Country Club, playing golf regularly and serving as President of the Women's Golf Association.
Her later years were spent living at The Terrace in Sugar Land, where she developed many new friendships and played duplicate bridge as often as possible.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, H.D. and Gladys Maxwell; husbands, Samuel W. Law, M.D., and Jim M. Pettigrew; longtime friend, Mason Smith; brother, Sidney L. Maxwell; and step-children, Karen Pettigrew and Douglas Pettigrew.
She is survived by her sons, Sam W. Law, II, M.D. and his wife Lydia, and Richard M. Law and his wife Sherry; daughter-in-law, Graeme Law; grandchildren, Todd Law and his wife Charla, Alison Law Dasher and her husband Brian, and Adam Law and his wife Kelly; great-grandsons, Luke Law, Lane Law, and Richard Dasher; and soon to be great-granddaughter, Annabelle Law.
She is also survived by her brother, H.D. Maxwell, Jr. and his wife Martha; and sister-in-law, Nona Maxwell; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 19, 2014, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit). Following a private interment, a Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 20, 2014, in the Morrow Chapel @ The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek.
