RICHARD “DICK” EDGAR HOOVER, age 83, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011. He was born December 19, 1927, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Edgar “Jerry” and Bertha Nicolay Hoover. Dick graduated from Battle Creek High School, in Battle Creek NE, in 1945. After graduation he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947-49. He later went on to receive a B.A. Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in 1952. Dick retired in 1985 from Fairmont Foods Co. after thirty-three years of service. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Smith Hoover; cousins, Lorna Fundum of Norfolk, NE, Pearl Vidlac of Lincoln, NE, and Melba Nicolay of Battle Creek, NE; and many other loving relatives and friends. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Frwy., Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit). Funeral Services and interment will be held in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at a later date.
