A Sweet Spirit was born on July 25, 1955 to the late Jesse Lee Leavell and Martha Jean Bethea Leavell in Muncie, IN and he was given the name of Ronald Lewis Leavell. His sweet spirit departed on May 11, 2023 as he was called to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
There are three steps to heaven: out of self, into Christ and into Glory. Ronnie took these first two steps, and he lived a Christ filled life which was revealed throughout his family and his community. Now, he has taken the third step where he is smiling with that "Immaculate Smile" which is even larger than when he was on this side of heaven with us. We know that he is satisfied now in his current state and that he is reaping the great reward reserved for those faithful as himself. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lee Leavell and Martha Jean Bethea Leavell.
Ronnie was educated at Longfellow Elementary, Kuhner Jr High and Muncie Central High School in Muncie, IN. He was a member of Wheels of the Zodiac Club in Muncie, IN. Ronnie’s career spanned many years of employment as well as entrepreneurship. His last career journey was that of a Quality Executive. As a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Sugar Land, TX, he served as a faithful member for many years until his health failed. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, swimming, sports, playing pool and spending quality time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his love and legacy: his loving and devoted wife; three sons; two sisters; three brothers; one special son; two aunts; sister-in-law, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, other loving relatives and friends. Ronnie Sr’s sweet spirit will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him. As his family, we give the Lord the upmost gratitude for giving us Ronnie Lewis Leavell Sr. who was truly our precious gift.
A celebration of life for Ronald was held Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.
