On Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, Shirley Ann Konarik Westbrook, 71, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home. She was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to many.
Shirley was born on October 21, 1949 in Hallettsville, Texas. She met her husband Steve in 1978 and they were married on December 9, 1978. The most important things to Shirley were her faith, her family, and her friends. While you would often find her bowling in leagues, boating, floating in her pool, riding her own Harley-Davidson, playing cards, shopping, or just talking with anyone; it was the people she was doing it with that she enjoyed the most. Whether working as a server at Denny’s, Jim’s, Champs, or Olive Garden; or working as a retail manager at Palais Royal; Shirley did not view her jobs as work but rather as opportunities to meet people. Shirley’s tireless work ethic, her love of everyone she met, and her infectious smile made her successful at everything she attempted.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Konarik; and brothers George Konarik, Frank Konarik, Ronald Konarik, and Harvey Konarik. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 42 years, Steve Westbrook; and their three children Jerome Lemmon III and wife Mary; Lana Redmond and husband Joseph; and Heather Silewicz. Shirley will be fondly remembered by her sisters Marjorie Konarik Hromadka; Mildred Konarik Cobden, and her brother Victor Konarik and his wife Patrice; and her 15 grandchildren Joseph III (Tre’) and Kelsey; Sabrina; Noel; Savannah; Samantha; Melissa; Aaron; Donna; Stephen; Haley; Lily; Kyla; Jordyn; Hannah; Allie; and three great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A rosary service will occur Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 12:30 PM to1:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478.
