Amber Denee, the very definition of beauty, elegance, and grace, exuded a certain fire and veracity that reached unto the heavens. She was a kindred spirit whose selflessness and love for others could reach the depths of one’s soul. Amber had the ability to inspire and uplift those in need and cry with you during times of heartache. She possessed a certain ability to know when to lead a conversation and when to just listen. Some may know her as the fierce champion she was on the field, but most will agree that it’s the champion she was off the field that made her unique. Amber expressed this passion as a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife, and foremost a mother. In her illness, Amber was called by God to be a mother of one. She affirmed her obedience to the call of God and lived out her vocation throughout the rest of her life with a mission to instill in her son the very qualities she possessed that inspired those around her. Amber loved and lived life with the depths of her soul and in her time of motherhood loved and lived with her son and husband as such. She often forgave when others wouldn’t and forgave when some said she shouldn’t. Her love for Christ had no boundaries and she found every opportunity she could to show just that. She will be remembered for the woman she was on earth, still is, and will become in heaven.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Myers; a son, Owen Myers; parents, Murrel and Carol Koonce; a sister, Tiffanie Parker all of Sulphur; a brother, Chase Koonce and wife, Jessica of Lake Charles; nephews, Cale, Hunter, Haden, Teche, and Christian; nieces, Hallie Lillian, Layla, and Mia; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends.
