He was born and raised in Hackberry and was a resident of Toledo Bend. Carroll was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, playing guitar, and was an avid LSU fan.
Survivors include his two sons, Eddie J. Guidry of Baton Rouge and Jay C. Guidry and wife, Barbara of Carlyss; two sisters, Mary Lou Little of Hackberry and Twiley Ann Broussard of Carlyss; and five grandchildren, Amber Guidry, Jason Guidry, Eric Guidry, Khira Guidry, and Kirk Guidry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Leora Guidry; his wife, Marjorie Ellen Guidry; and his daughter-in-law, Karen Lynn Guidry.
His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Rommel Tolentino will officiate. Burial will be in New Hackberry Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home, with a rosary service at 1:30 p.m.
