

He was a native of Sulphur and had been a resident of Moss Bluff for the last 3 years. Channing was a Freshman at Sam Houston High School where he was an honor student and member of the football team. He thoroughly enjoyed Legos, the New Orleans Saints, and playing video games. He attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Survivors include his father, Kenny Hedrick and wife, Traci of Westlake; his mother, Olivia Jones and husband, Rick of Moss Bluff; his sister, Lily Jones of Moss Bluff; grandparents, John and Phoebe Pruett of Sulphur, Dyane Elliott and husband, Michael of Lake Charles, Jimmy Hedrick and Julie of Lake Charles, Robert and Sue Moss of Westlake, Larry Jones of Moss Bluff, and Lisa Young of Grand Lake; great-grandparents, Eula Bruette of Lake Charles, Marvin Moss of Westlake, and William Sampson of Westlake; Godparents, Mary Pruett and Joshua Pruett; aunts, ToniAn Johnson and husband, Michael; and Kelly Gaspard and husband, Christopher; cousins, Taylor Pruett, Zane Smith, Landen Soileau, Alexa Johnson, Sierra Johnson, Brenna Gaspard, and Jadyn Gaspard; and his beloved dogs, Pepper Rose and Jett. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 24, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. The Revs. Edward Richard and Tom Huhn will officiate. Pallbearers will be Joshua Pruett, Jacob Willis, Robert Manuel, Brian Smith, Christopher Buller, David Robertson, and Casey Stout. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Sunday with a scripture service led by Deacon Fred Reed at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary, and from 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
