

Dan was a native and lifelong resident of Carlyss. In his younger years, he worked as a rough neck in the Louisiana oil fields and enjoyed participating in rodeos. He retired from P.P.G. Industries in 1993 and enjoyed many years riding horses and working cattle. He was a member of Choupique Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Grace Jones; his son, Danny Jones of San Francisco, California; his daughter, Debra Morrison and husband, Craig of Carlyss; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Lena Jones; sisters, Mary Landry and Lola Mae LeDoux; and brother, Bill Jones.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Nay Vickers will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital and Cornerstone Hospital for the professionalism and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Choupique Baptist Church, 7106 Choupique Road, Sulphur LA 70665.
