He was a native of Wheeling, West Virginia and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 50 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Danny retired from Olin Chemical Company after 33 years of service. After his retirement, he began working for Bank Tech South doing bank preventative care. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, going to air shows, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Gaylynn Taylor of Sulphur; his son, Michael Taylor of Sulphur; his daughter, Kristi Russell and husband, Greg of Carlyss; his father-in-law, Wayne Walker of Houston, Texas; his siblings, Carl Taylor and wife, Nancy of Ohio, Dave Taylor and wife, Tracey of Dalton, Massachusetts, William Taylor and wife, Jane of North Port, Maine, Sue Taylor Kelly and husband, Richard of West Virginia, and June Stoffle Skwartz of Arizona; and his grandsons, Chase and Cade Russell. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Randall Taylor and Beulah Maxine Taylor; his mother-in-law, Frances Walker; and a brother, Robert Taylor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward Richard, M.S. will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
