Floyd Joseph Comeaux was born on August 21, 1942, in Abbeville, Louisiana to Amos Comeaux and Elda Trahan Comeaux. Floyd went to meet Jesus on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 7:46 pm surrounded by his family, after a long, hard fought battle with liver cancer. He was 83 years old.
He moved with his family to Sulphur in 1944. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1960. He attended Louisiana Tech and McNeese. He started his adult working career with the Atlantic & Pacific Company, Inc. at the corporate office in New Orleans as a purchasing agent. He retired from HIMONT, INC (Lyondell Basell) as a Supervisor in Operations.
After retirement he worked for Bill Dore’ as a Projects Coordinator.
Floyd served his country in the Marine Corps Reserve for 6 years. In his younger years, he volunteered for over 12 years at S.P.A.R. coaching basketball, baseball, softball, and swimming. He enjoyed watching LSU football, LSU baseball, and working with his cattle. He was a long-time member of the American Quarter Horse Association and National Cutting Horse Association and was a 25-year Quarter Horse Breeder.
Floyd will be remembered as a man who took care of his family. He worked extremely hard to make us comfortable and happy. He had mechanical skills and could repair most anything. He loved his horses, tractor, and cattle. He was a true cowboy. Anytime we had a problem he was always available to “fix it” and he did!
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Charlotte Davis Comeaux; his children, Perry Comeaux (Robin), Pam Comeaux, Brad Holley and Cody Holley; siblings, Esther Howard, Ray Comeaux (Shirley) half siblings, Amos Comeaux, Jr, Mike Comeaux and Cindy Chaisson; eleven grandchildren, Devin Comeaux, Michael Comeaux, Lance Comeaux, Randall Comeaux, Brooke Bays, Joplin Flores, Van Flores, Jade Flores, Rian Flores, Bailey Shuff and Delaney Shuff CoCo; along with ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Comeaux; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Howard and Johnny Davis.

The family would like to extend special thanks to West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, Dr. Mullins and Kimberly Comeaux for the care and support that they provided during his illness. Also, to Pastors Jeremy Blocker, Jerry Parmentier and Maplewood First Baptist Church for their prayers, visits, and support during Floyd’s illness. Thanks a million, to the Thursday Bible Study group and Kitchen Staff for the prayers, food, and love that we felt through this wonderful outreach. It was through these outreaches that Floyd accepted Christ as his personal savior.
