Harold lived in Sulphur most of his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur. He coached Dixie Youth and Pony League Baseball for 12 years. He enjoyed classic cars.
Survivors include his sons, Barry Hanson and Dema of San Antonio, Texas, Mitchell Hanson and his wife Raquel of Sulphur, and Matthew Hanson and his wife Kendall of Beaumont, Texas; Daughter Shannon Hanson of Sulphur; grandchildren, Heather, Austin, Claire, Colton, Luke and Ella Hanson; and great granddaughter Anjalee Hanson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Hanson and mother, Letha Hanson.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 30, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. The Rev. John Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
