

He was a native of Okmulgee, Okla., and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 68 years, moving from Conway, Ark. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Harold was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and had been a Scoutmaster with Cub Scout Pack #83 in Maplewood. He enjoyed working at his computer, photography, electronics and woodworking, among other interests.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Kay McGuire of Sulphur; two sons, Brian McGuire and wife Irene of Moss Bluff, and Kevin McGuire and wife Beth of Sulphur; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a son, Craig S. McGuire; his parents, Jollie and Effie McGuire; three brothers; and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 19, in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 Center Circle in Sulphur. Pastors Erich and Leslie Mansell will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or the charity of one’s choice.
