

James was also known as "Uncle Nickie", "Jim" and "Nick". Jim worked as a Maintenance Pipefitter for Citgo for over 30 years. He enjoyed being retired, working in his yard, shrimping, spending time at his camp in Hackberry, and riding motorcycles. Nickie loved spending time harassing his family, but he especially loved his fur babies, Roman, Buster, and Trotter.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha McMichael Saunier, father, Adias "BeBe" Saunier and wife, Lenora "Sis", mother, Bertha Baker Myers and husband, Robert Lee, and a brother, John Calvin Saunier.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Debera Saunier of Sulphur; sister, Lenora Faye Foster and husband, Ronnie of Texas; brother, Norbert Ricky Myers of Lafayette; mother-in-law, Barbara McMichael; sister-in-law, Doris Saunier both of Sulphur; special nieces, Jolene Saunier-Rollins and husband, Chris of Sulphur, Sheree' Peoples and husband, Ronnie, Ronna Foster, and Julie Foster of Texas; nephew, John Robert Saunier of Sulphur; special cousin, Joan Routon of Sulphur; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux will lead services. James' wishes were to be cremated and he will be laid to rest at a later date.
