Jessie Louis Miller

Jessie Louis Miller, 97, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born to his late parents, Louis and Analice Miller on October 24, 1925 in Eunice, Louisiana. He was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, Louisiana. He enjoyed gardening, shrimping, and playing solitaire. He was a jack of all trades and loved fixing whatever was broke.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his four children, Dale Miller (Judy Sonnier) of Merryville, LA, Jimmie L Miller (Debbie Bellon) of Youngsville, LA, Roxana Miller Jean (Gordon) of Hot Springs Village, AR, and Jane Miller Soileau (Lannis) of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Genneive, Lula Mae, and Martha, all of Iota, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Brian Miller (Amanda), Clint Miller (Stephanie), Kay Miller Broussard (Cale), Shannon Thibodeaux Alberts (Steve), Jenna Broussard Bonin (James), Brandon Meche (Ashley), Amanda Meche, and Justin Meche; three step-grandchildren whom he loved like his own, Selena Cooley (Cary), Marshall Jean (Ashley) and Melisse Jean; also an additional nine grandsons from the Soileau family; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jessie is preceded in death by his wife, Vida Mae Miller; great granddaughter, Annemarie Grace Alberts; five brothers, Henry, U.L., Lee, Edward, and William Miller; along with two sisters, Lillie and Tiara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, Louisiana on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm, with Father Matthew Cormier officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, beginning at 9:00 am, with a Rosary at 11:00 am, with visitation continuing until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
