Born and raised in Sulphur, Louisiana, Judy graduated from Sulphur High School, Class of 1963, and went on to earn an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting from Sowela Tech. Judy worked 30 years in accounting, with 22 of those years having served at Southwest Louisiana Credit Union. A life-long resident of Sulphur, Judy was a member of Christian Life Church. Judy loved to cook, bake, take cruises, sing, and pray for people. Her greatest love was for her Savior and for her family.
Judy is survived by her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Bennett; her son, Eric and wife, Lindi; her daughter, Beth Bennett LeBlanc and husband, Eddie, granddaughter, Jazmine Bennett Young and husband, Nathan; granddaughter, Michelle LeBlanc; grandson, Edison LeBlanc; and great grandchildren, Aiden Young, Cinder Young, and Asher Young; her sister, Jan Siler and husband, John; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Hilbert & Nadie Clifton; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.M. & Thelma Bennett; her brother, Huey Clifton; and her brother, Doug Clifton.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Hixson’s Funeral Home of Sulphur and will resume at 9am on Thursday at Christian Life Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Christian Life Church (located within Maplewood United Methodist Church) at 11 Center Circle in Sulphur. Pastor Marcus Wade will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Sulphur, Louisiana.
