I am so sorry to hear about your loss Amanda.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Wendell, Nancy, Amanda and family.  We are so sorry about Matt's passing.  We were out of town and unable to make it home for the funeral; but you never left our thoughts and prayers.  Matt was not only family but a great inspiration to my son Joseph and my daughter's boyfriend John Courmier.  Before we even knew the Matt John talked so highly of was family, we knew how special he was.  See John did not give us the last name of his favorite journeyman right away.  He just always told us stories about their antics at work.  Then Joseph went to work with John and Joseph also found Matt to be his favorite journeyman.  Matt took these boys under his wings and watched out for them; John for a longer time than Joseph. I know Matt is smiling down on those two boys and keeping watch over them to make sure they do not get into too much trouble :) Madolyne and Maddyson have been friends with Kaitlin and did not know they were cousins. We are so sorry for your loss and will be here if you need anything even if it is just to talk. To the entire family, may I express my deepest sympathies and please know that I will pray for you all every day. Matt and Amanda and their beautiful family live right next door to me. I have watched them for 5 years as they sat outside in lawn chairs, talked, laughed, and watched the small children play in the yard and driveway. They have grown from a family of 3 to a family of five before my eyes. The little children always shout to me when I'm out walking the dog, "Hey Neighbor!" Such a sweet family to have as neighbors. I know the hole left by Matt's passing will be greater than words can say. Wade, you taught me my first Psychology class at MSU after my own husband had passed away at age 40. I wasn't sure what I wanted to write about Matt, what story I wanted to share. After being classmates and friends for many years it makes it hard to choose just one. But while thinking about it I noticed there were some things that were always the same. Matt was always trying to do the right thing, always trying to help, and always using the word "Darlin' " ….I can hear it in my head so clearly. It is always great when you are in out and run into old friends, and it happened a couple of times with Matt in recent years but more than anything I remember one of our last real conversations. It was maybe in 2002? I was out with a couple of friends and ran into Matt and he sat down with us and talked. Matt told them about me in high school and we laughed but there came a point when I started thinking "ok now you are being an annoying little brother who is sharing too much and embarrassing me" and right as I thought that Matt said "so she is pretty much like a little sister to me" and I laughed and it made me smile. The class of 89 is our own little special family. We laughed with each other, we fought with each other, and we loved each other. Each time we have lost one of "us" we are heartbroken, yet it seems to bring us closer. Matt you were loved, and you will not be forgotten. Fenton Golden Eagles Forever.
