

Michael was a life-long resident of Sulphur, where he worked for Chevron Phillips as an operator. Mike was an U.S. Army veteran and loved LSU football. He enjoyed spending his weekends with his children and their sporting activities. He was loved by all he met and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his three children, Michael DuFresne Jr., Jace DuFresne and Alexis DuFresne, all of Sulphur; his parents, Alvin and Roxanne Duhon of Sulphur; two step children, Lakin Pearson and Lori Patton of Sulphur; a brother, Matthew DuFresne and wife Ashley of Sulphur; a sister, Tracy DuFresne of Sulphur; grandmother, Betty Priest of Kellogg, Idaho; uncles, Floyd Hayes of Wisconsin and Michael Hayes of Ina.; an aunt, Rose Palmer of Sulphur; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cleo Duhon; grandmother, Georgie Hayes; and a nephew, Blake DuFresne.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Chapel with Father Guilbeau officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur. Visitation will begin Thursday 5-9 p.m., and will resume Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Rosary will be recited Friday at 6 p.m.
