She was a native of Indian Bayou and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 75 years. Sadie enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Brian Wingate and wife, Gena of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Craig, Andrew, and Emily Wingate of Sulphur, Murandia Anderson and husband, Ryan of Westlake, and Stephen "Bubba" Howell, II and wife, Jennifer of DeRidder; and great-grandchildren, Colton and Brennan Anderson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Wingate, Jr; a son, Stephen Howell, I; her parents, Murphy and Dell Hoffpauir; and two sisters, Mavis Howell and Melba LeJeune.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of High Hope Care Center for their excellent care of Sadie.
