She was a native of Griffin, Georgia and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Sheri worked as a firefighter for ten years in North Carolina and had been employed as an Advanced EMT with Cameron Parish District 2.
Survivors include her husband, Richard LeDoux, Jr. of Sulphur; her daughters, Shelby McClain of Sulphur, Mindy Taylor of North Carolina, and Tommie Sue Rossler of Westlake; her siblings, James Higginbotham and Connie Weatherby both of Georgia; her sister-in-law, Kathy Schexnider, husband, Don and their children and grandchildren, of DeQuincy; and her granddaughter, Anberlin Raines.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Higginbotham; her son, Michael Brett McClain; and her father and mother-in-law, Richard LeDoux, Sr. and Rose LeDoux.
A Celebration of Sheri's Life will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana. The Celebration of Life will be led by Hixson Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Visitation is from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
