

She was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. She was a longtime member of Southside Celebration Worship Center and most recently was attending Truth Apostolic Church. Sherry was the past Executive Director of Care Help of Sulphur for many years and was a past member of the Sulphur Kiwanis Club. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she was very instrumental in organizing reunions and get togethers. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Survivors include her husband, David Holmes; her daughters, Pamela Sharp Haney and husband, David of White Oak, Texas and their children, Kristen, Chelsea, and Lexi, Donna Pitre Istre and husband, Kevin of Sulphur, and their children, Bryan, Barret, and Blake, and Sheila Pitre Miller Hanks and her children, Anthony, Heather, and Baylen; two sisters, Judy Dugas of Sulphur, and Kathy Melancon and husband, Paul of Richmond, Texas, and their children, Jason and Kristin; and a great-grandchild, Levi. She is preceded in death by her husband, Al Sharp; and her parents, Alton and Winnie Dugas.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Revs. Bob Stark and Sidney Fontenot will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
