Utly Steven Trahan

Prior to 2008, Utly lived in Johnson Bayou, where he was born on April 14, 1924. Utly worked and retired from the Louisiana DOTD. Before working for the state, Utly was also a school bus driver and janitor at Johnson Bayou High School. As well, Utly was a cattleman and served overseas during World War II as a medic in the United States Army.

He is survived by his children, Peggy Boudreaux and husband, Mike of Longville, Danny Michael Trahan and wife, Nell of Abbeville, Malcolm Dean Trahan and wife Marilyn, Lynn Trahan and wife, Donna, and Tony Ray Trahan and Debbie, all of Carlyss, and Randy Steven Trahan and wife, Vickie, and Ricky Lane Trahan and wife, Marsha all of Johnson Bayou; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgie Marie Trahan; his parents, Alfred and Effie Trahan; and his siblings, Alton, Allen, Allie, Sylvia, Elvin, Melvin, Douglas, and Lorraine.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, in Johnson Bayou Baptist Church. The Rev. Jack Gandy will officiate. Burial will be in Head of the Hollow Cemetery in Johnson Bayou under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Patrick Boudreaux, Scott Trahan, Layne Boudreaux, Trevor Trahan, Brodie Trahan, Robby Trahan, and Justin Trahan.
