She was a native of DeRidder and had been a longtime resident of the Lake Charles-Westlake area. She was a member of Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church in Sulphur. Wanda enjoyed doing ceramics and stained glass and especially enjoyed cooking for family gatherings.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas Robert Wing, Jr. and wife, Deanna of Gillis, David Allen Wing and wife, Amie of Gouverneur, New York, Michael Wayne Wing of Lake Charles, and Brian Keith Wing of Westlake; step-children, Lynn Ols of Hilton Head, South Carolina, William Watson and wife, Lori of Tampa, Florida, and Kevin Watson and wife, Nancy of Cleveland, Ohio; her sisters, Margaret Carnicella and husband, Donald of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Barbara Harris of Orange, Texas, and Darlene Dinger of Sulphur; twenty-two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren with one on the way. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard Watson and Thomas Robert Wing, Sr.; her parents, Hubert Harris, Sr. and Irene O'Conner Harris; and siblings, Mary Jane Perkins and Hubert Robert Harris, Jr.
A Celebration of Wanda's Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Hixson's Celebrant, Jody Tyler. Burial will be in Newlin Cemetery in Singer. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday with a Rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
