

After WWII, she attended Silliman University and the University of Philippines where she majored in English then taught at Torres High School in Manila. Her dream to travel to the United States materialized with a scholarship to Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College. As a shy girl, she sailed to the US on the ocean liner, President Wilson in 1958. Earning a master's degree in english, she worked as a librarian in Minnesota and then moved to Tacoma, WA. There she worked as a cataloger at Annie Wright Seminary and the Tacoma Public Library.
She married Mariano "Ted" Doniego in 1960 and together owned and operated Ted's Fruit & Vegetable stand from 1965-1993. She was a very active and long-time member of the Filipino-American Community and Women's Club of Puget Sound in Algona. Priscila had a passion for travel and was able to visit destinations like Egypt, Russia, and the Great Wall. There were even more destinations from travel benefits from her daughter like New Zealand with her daughter, son-in-law and his mother, Doreen. During her last years, Priscila lived with her daughter in Normandy Park, WA.
She is survived by her son Benjamin F.; her daughter Frances A., married to Jon Covich; and grandchildren Theo "Teddy" and Greger Covich.
Visitation Sept. 6, 1-8pm and Sept. 7, 11-12:30pm. Funeral Services held 12:30pm, Wed., Sept. 7, Powers Funeral Home, Sumner (253) 863-6332. Interment Sumner Cemetery. Please come to a gathering after interment celebrating Priscila's life! Filipino-American Community Hall, 103-6th Ave. North, Algona, WA.
A smart, loving, and witty lady, Priscila will be missed dearly.
