Anna, the cherished matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at Belmont Village in Scottsdale AZ, surrounded by the loving family.
Born in December in Detroit, Michigan, Anna lived a long and vibrant life filled with joy, adventure, and deep connections. Her greatest joys were found in music, dance, travel, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, always making those around her feel special and remembered.
Holidays were Anna’s favorite time of the year, when the home was filled with laughter, warmth, and the delicious aromas of her famous dishes. She delighted in cooking for her family, especially her cherished German potato salad, creamy au gratin potatoes, and her beloved Christmas rollout cookies – recipes that will be passed down through generations.
Anna was proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, John (2007), and two brothers, Roy (2009), and Roger (2021). She is survived by her devoted sister Patti Stack of Venice, Florida; and her four loving children, William Mc Casey (Irayna), James Mc Casey (Connie), Kathleen Labroff (Dr. Steven Labroff), and Colleen Via-Friend (Daniel Friend), as well as 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in September at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, and Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, in Anna’s Memory.
