Ardella June Guthrie, 93, went home to be with the Lord November 14, 2021. Ardella was born June 11, 1928 in Chatham, Ontario, Canada to Thomas and Edith (Seal) Brown. When Ardella was three years old, the family moved to Highland Park, Michigan so her father could work at the Ford Motor Company. Soon after graduating from Highland Park High School, Ardella began working for a CPA as a bookkeeper. On July 24, 1948, Ardella married Joe B. Guthrie at Highland Park Baptist Church. Joe and Ardella were active in the church and spent 56 years serving in many capacities. After retiring in 1987, Ardella and Joe spent time between Michigan and Arizona, becoming full time residents of Arizona in 1992. They continued to stay busy in Phoenix with being members of Palmcroft Church and volunteering at Arrowhead Hospital as well as Banner Boswell Medical Center. Golfing also became something both Ardella and Joe enjoyed in retirement.
Ardella was predeceased by her husband Joe in 2007. Her three sisters Betty Haugsted, Eunice VanGemert and Pauline Dickson also predeceased her. She is survived by her brother Leonard Brown of Michigan, her children David (Linda) Guthrie of Arizona, Dennis Guthrie of Michigan, and Donna Edwards of Michigan; her grandchildren Dennis Jr., Scott, Karen, Kyle and Courtney; as well as her five great grandchildren Merrick, Nathan, Brady, Ruby Grace, and Craig and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Northwest Valley Baptist Church, 4030 W. Yorkshire Dr., Glendale, AZ 85308. A Memorial Service in Michigan will be held Friday, December 10th, 2021 at 3:30 PM at Woodside Bible Church, 2500 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion, MI 48360.
