Arline Catherine Bartal, daughter of the late Raymond Massoni and Catherine Massoni was born on July 27, 1942 in New York, NY. She lost her long battle to Alzheimer’s Disease peacefully on December 2, 2019.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Paul M. Bartal in November of 1964. During the marriage, they lived in Richmond Hill NY, Mechanicsville VA and finally Peoria AZ.
After raising her two sons, Paul and Kevin, Arline returned to the workforce as an Executive Assistant. Once she retired, she spent many years as a Volunteer at Arrowhead Hospital where she enjoyed comforting newborn babies in the nursery. She utilized her outgoing personality by helping visitors at the Peoria Sports Complex during Spring Training and baking cookies for the homeless at the St. Vincent de Paul bakery.
Arline loved being “Nana” to her grandchildren, doing crafts, dancing, and traveling. She was also very active in the Catholic Church and the highlight of her travels was visiting the Vatican on three separate occasions.
She was blessed to have many friends from coast to coast. She never met a stranger and was always happy to sit and chat with anyone that was nearby.
She is survived by her sister, Karen Massoni of New York, NY; Her sons Paul R. Bartal (Diane) of Glendale, AZ and Kevin Bartal (Sandy) of Mechanicsville, VA, and her beloved Grandchildren Paul D., Connor and Erin.
The family would like to thank and recognize the dozens of caregivers that provided help over the past three years with special thanks to the staff at Hospice of the Valley towards the end of the journey.
