In loving memory of my uncle Billy, I will always remember his beautiful smile and the twinkle in his eyes and how handsome he was. My fondest memory of him as a little girl in that big house on Union St was how he would give me money (dime) just to rub his feet until I fell asleep. Living on Budlong St uncle Billy would take me to church on Sundays with his friend Moon (so tall)! The family playing poker all weekend at the house on Sandia. I'll remember him as kind and gentle man.
I know in my heart that someday we will all be together again.

Dearest Uncle Bill, 

I will always remember you for your upbeat and easy going personality, your wonderful sense of humor and as a kid I always thought of you as the funny and strong uncle! I'll never forget how you ate your soup, the hotter the better! Now I eat my soup that way and always thought you were so cool for taking that kind of heat! I know you're in a better place now resting and in the company of your beloved beautiful daughter and the family. We will never forget you Uncle Bill, rest in peace and God Bless, love you always.

BILLY AT 18 TEEN YEARS OLD, WITH HIS FRIEND TONY

BILLY WAS BORN IN LOS ANGELES IN 1934 (MAN THATS LONG AGO), HE LIVED ON THE CORNER OF TENTH ST AND STANFORD AVE

WHEN HE HAD NOTHING BETTER TO DO, FOR ENTERTAINMENT, HE WOULD SIT OUTSIDE WITH A RUBBER HAMMER AND SMASH ANTS (NOT MUCH DOING BACK THEN)

HE ATTENED NINTH STEET GRAMMAR, LAFAYETTE JUNIOR, AND MANUEL ARTS HIGH SCHOOLS. ON SUNDAYS HE WENT TO MASS AT SAINT TURIBIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, WHERE HE WAS AN ALTER BOY, AND ON OCCASION  SERVED MASS WITH HIS YOUNGER BROTHER.

BILL LOVED EATING AT MARYS CAFE, WHERE HE ENJOYED THE CHILE DOG WITH RICE (IT WAS GOOD). HE HUNG OUT AT THE NEIGHBORHOOD THEATER CALLED THE HUB ON CENTRAL AVE AND WATCHED SUPERMAN, ABBOTT & COSTELLO AND COWBOY MOVIES.

IN HIS LATE TEENS, ONCE A MONTH THE CHURCH WOULD HAVE DANCING TO A LIVE BAND IN THE CHURCH QUONSET HUT. HE ENJOYED DANCING, AND WAS QUITE A DANCER, AND A SNAZZY DRESSER BACK THEN.

WHEN BILL WAS TWENTY YEARS OLD, HE JOINED THE ARMY, AND WAS STATIONED IN GERMANY FOR TWO YEARS AS A TANK (SOMETHING OR OTHER)
AFTER SERVING HIS TIME IN THE SERVICE, HE STARTED WORK FOR G&G PRODUCE ON SANTEE ST, DELIVERING PRODUCE TO RESTAURANTS AND HOTELS.

HE HAD SOME GREAT FRIENDS FROM SCHOOL AND IN HIS NEIGHBORHOOD, CARLOS,CONNIE(GIRL), HUMPHREY,MANUEL,AND OTHERS, THAT REMAINED FRIENDS WELL INTO HIS ADULT YEARS, HE WAS ALSO BEST MAN WHEN HIS YOUNGER BROTHER GOT MARRIED.

THIS WAS SOME OF BILLYS YOUNG, EXCITING AND SIMPLE LIFE GROWING UP IN LOS ANGELES. I'M SURE HIS FAMLIY AND FRIENDS HAVE SOME MEMORABLE TALES TO TELL ABOUT HIM.

SO AS TIME PASSES, AND YOU RETURN TO YOUR EVERY DAY ROUTINE, TAKE COMFORT KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE BILLY WATCHING OVER HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS ,
FOR HE WILL FOREVER BE IN OUR THOUGHTS.

Dear Uncle Billy, 
You will be dearly missed. I was fortunate to spend quality time with you when we worked together cleaning newly built restaurants together, that was a great time I will never forget it! 
We would laugh and share stories about life and you always had a great outlook  on things! 
I would tell you about my adventures and friends and you would always say,
"Your Kidding Me" I still use that to this day with my friends!
