THE LIFE OF DALLAS JACKSON SENIOR

A humble man from humble beginnings...
Born in the hills of Gray Kentucky to a God fearing mother...She would pray for each of her eleven children by name on a daily basis.  Those prayers followed Dallas throughout his life and her spirit was with him always.  He was a survivor in those hills..A survivor in the C.C. Camps and lied about his age so he could join...A Survivor of World War II, and the streets of Detroit, Michigan.  It was in Detroit when a breath of fresh air floated into his life and Mabel was her name.  God's hand touched the union of Dallas and Mabel she was always his life line.  That union lasted almost 70 years.  From that union there was the arrival of his children; Jeanie, Dallas Jr. and Little Pam.  He was such a kind, caring and most of all a loving dad.  Time moved on and he was blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Kathryn Ann, Donald Jr., Mike, Donna Jean and Tom.  God's blessings just kept coming when seven great-grandchildren came into his life, Nic, Sara, Matthew, Marissa, Jordan and Madison.  He loved all these children with all of his heart and they loved and adored him with all of their hearts.  I think he had a secret love though...Air Planes.  His favorites might have been the DC 8 and the DC 10.  He loved his job working for Douglas Air Craft in Long Beach, California.  He worked on heavy equipment moving planes from place to place.  Another time or place, if life had been different, I think he would have loved soaring in the heavens.  He was a very religious man and loved God's word.  The time has come and God called Him home...I know there is a celebration in heaven now, he's with his brothers and sisters, his dad and mom.  He never really knew his mom he was only four years old when she went to be with God.  He always said he can't wait to see and be with his loving mother.  I know she was there with her arms opened wide to welcome her little Dallas home.  I know he will be there with arms opened wide to welcome each of us home.  What a wonderful man he was, to know him is to love him.  Our hearts hurt and we miss him so very much but we take comfort knowing he'll never be in pain again.  One of his favorite songs was...I'll Fly Away...Well This Wonderful Man Has Flown Away!!

A message to my dad:  Mom, Pam and I attended the Memorial Day Service at Sunland in your honor.  You would have been so very moved and proud,it was beautiful.  I could hear you saying,"this honor can't be for me, I'm not anybody", but that's my dad the humble man you are (yes are because you are here with us every day)! Love you Dad

Fond memories of sitting around your kitchen table and hearing about your life's adventures back in Kentucky and Detroit, and moving cross country to Calif, to raise your family. You were a remarkable man, and I am truly thankful for having met you. I will miss you sir.

My condolences to the Jackson family.

Missing Dad so much.  Knowing he is rejoicing in Heaven with our Lord.

When my Dad was dying of cancer, I remember Uncle Dallas came to visit him in the hospital and he prayed for him. My Dad believed in God, but he wasn't a church goer. But after Uncle Dallas prayed for him he was ready to meet the Lord. So many loved ones in Heaven. Some of my best childhood memories are of spending the holidays with Uncle Dallas, Aunt Mabel and Pam. You are in my prayers.

Grief can be so difficult, but the memories we share help us cope.  I will remember you and Uncle Dallas today and always, and I will keep you all in my prayers.
