

Donald W. Sullivan, 91 of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully at his home with his beloved family by his side on January 9, 2014. He was born in Detroit, MI. At the age of 13, Don and his family moved to Tucson, Arizona.
Don honorably served his country during WWII in the United States Air Force. He was a radio operator on a B24. Don had several missions including air offensives in Europe, Naples, Fogeia, Normandy, Luzon and the Philippines. Don had several stories that he would recount to friends and family detailing several of his missions. One of those stories included when he was shot down over Yugoslavia.
A favorite trip of Don’s was during the service, on some R&R in Hawaii, Don met up with his wife, Rosalie, who was also honorably serving our country in the United States Marine Corp and who was also on R&R. On that trip, they decided to start their family after the war.
After the military, Don spent the next 32 years as a truck driver for the Leeway Motor Co in Phoenix, AZ where he and Rosie raised their family.
Don was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rose Sullivan and their son, Danny Sullivan. He is survived by his daughters, Pat Coates and her husband, Jerry Coates and Kathy Sullivan and her husband, Brian Pritchard; grandson, Jerry Hall and granddaughter, Stacy Lopez and great granddaughters, Becky Hall and Andria Lopez.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
Visitation will be held from 12-2pm with a graveside service following 2pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Sunland Memorial Park and Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City. There will also be a reception at Sunland following the graveside service.
