Doris Lillian Kalkbrenner passed away on March 15, 2020. She was 96 years old. Doris was the wife of Paul who preceded her in death and the proud mother of 6 children. Doris' greatest love was for her husband and family and all her children were proud to call her mom.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1923, Doris was the second of six children to her parents Reinhold and Frances Rapp. Life was always exciting with her three brothers, Arman, Don and Jerome, and two sisters, Geraldine and Gloria.
Shortly before World War II Doris was introduced to the love of her life, Paul Kalkbrenner, by Paul’s sisters, her dear friends, Esther and Theresa. Doris worked with Esther and Theresa at F&E Tea Room in St. Louis. After that first dance at the bowling alley to “You Are My Sunshine” the rest is history. They were married for 56 years.
Doris is survived by her brother, Jerome Rapp of Holden, MO, her six children (Greg, Paul, Anne, Kevin, Theresa and David), 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. A private service will be held due to the concern for everyone’s health. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hospice of the Valley.
