

Dorothy "Dot" Bell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 27, 1933, in Springfield, Missouri, Dot was the youngest of eight children of Chauncey and Iscie Sevy. She pursued her education with dedication at the University of Minnesota, where she earned her dental hygienist degree. It was there that she established lifelong friendships with her fellow classmates, affectionately known as the "Gopher Girls." Their bond lasted a lifetime, with shared adventures and cherished memories.
Dot married James Bell, and they settled in Phoenix, Arizona, where they raised their two daughters, Lisa and Marcy. Dot dedicated over 40 years of her career to dental hygiene, working for Dr. Voorhees.
Dot was passionate about life and had many interests. She loved golfing, was a devoted fan of the Phoenix Suns, and enjoyed shopping, and traveling with her family. She shared her love of nature and birdwatching with her daughters and grandchildren. An active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Peoria for over 30 years, Dot contributed her time and energy to supporting her church community.
Dot is survived by her daughters, Lisa Hein (Jack) and Marcy Belanger (Tom); grandchildren, Jack, Stacy, and Samantha; and great-grandchildren, Jade, Jackson, and Oliver.
Dot will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the laughter she brought to all who knew her. She had a unique ability to connect with people and made everyone feel special. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
