Gregory Angelo Bavonese Sr.

Gregory Angelo Bavonese Sr., a resident of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 87. Gregory was known for his adventurous spirit, gentle nature, and generous heart. He was a hard-working, patient, resilient, humorous, and thoughtful man who touched the lives of many.

Born on September 3, 1938, in Manhattan, New York, Gregory spent much of his early life enjoying the vibrant culture of mid-century America. He was one of thirteen siblings and is survived by one sister. In 1956, he married the love of his life, Evelyn, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage. Gregory served in the Army at Fort Dix for three years and spent time in Germany, where he lived with his family. Upon returning from the Army, Gregory and Evelyn settled in New Jersey, where they lived for many years.

Gregory's family was his greatest joy. Evelyn often remarked that he had no hobbies because his family was his entire life. He adored his wife and was a devoted and selfless man, always ready with a kind word or gesture. Gregory and Evelyn had two children, a son and a daughter. Sadly, their son predeceased them. Gregory is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, their daughter, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many great-nieces and nephews. His family cherished him deeply.

Gregory also shared a special bond with his furry companion, Shadow, a once-stray dog who became his loyal friend. Shadow was always by Gregory's side, a testament to the deep connection they shared.

Gregory Angelo Bavonese Sr. was a deeply loved man and will be equally missed. He was laid to rest next to his son at Sunland Memorial Park. Evelyn remarked that the only thing keeping him away from his family is mileage, and if heaven were not so far, Gregory would be right there with the love of his life and his family.

Visitation will be held on January 5, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory, located at 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held on January 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Saint Joachim & Saint Anne Parish, 11625 N 111th Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351. The committal service will follow from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory.
