While we hadn’t spoken in many years, I remember Marissa fondly because she was one of the first friends I made in the Arizona cosplay community. She was positive and genuinely cared about the people around her, even if they were newly acquainted like we were. I remember I had a fake cigarette that I’d acquired for a costume and it looked so real she mistook it as an actual cigarette. She didn’t hesitate to take it from me and tell me I shouldn’t be doing that because we were both kids at the time. We both laughed it off as she realized it was a prop, but I always appreciated her looking out for me.

Marissa was like my niece to me. A beautiful person who had a lot love to give. I will miss her dearly.

This is so hard to write. I don't know where to start. Marissa and I met in highschool, in the anime club of all things and we knew each other for all four years we were there. Even dated for a bit. We annoyed each other and we bickered but we were also good friends. We were even club officials for two years together. I was always a little bitter that she became president over me, but I had to admit, she did a great job at it. She was creative and energetic and cared a whole lot for her friend. Wasn't afraid to let you know what was on her mind and she could throw a punch when she needed to. After we graduated, we didn't keep in touch much and that's something I regret, the world's lost alot of its brightness and the only words I can still think to say are "I miss you."

My name is Sam, Marissa was my first and best friend she changed my life for the better. She was hilariously smart and always knew how to pick me up.

Marissa was a wonderful person I truly believe the sky has gain a brilliant star. One that shined even if they didn’t see how much they did. She will be missed. I love you so much Best Friend. I miss you.

Marissa was an amazing person. We met freshman year of highschool and we nicknamed her "Chuck". She was so positive and fun. Even on to community college we would talk between classes. She has always been a lovely person and a good friend and she is deeply missed.

My heart is broken because my precious loving niece has passed on. She was the one of the best people I have had the privilege to have in my life for the past 27 years. My only wish is that I could've had her longer. At least she will be with her wonderful mom. I loved her very much and will think of her with love forever.

Marrisa my sweet friend,

We met over ten years ago in theatre class. We would then become known for our skits about fairies, monsters, and other fantastical things to the point we weren't allowed to write fantasy skits anymore. I've heard the ministering angels we meet in our lives are often the people around us, and what more angelic than the title friend you were to me those four wonderful years. And occasionally I would see you in the halls at our community college as we talked about our future coursework. You were always so sure of who you were, and I can't remember a time I didn't see a smile on your face, and there many times in your life I knew you need not. Yet you did. I am heart broken. My friend, if I could give a measure of my soul for you I would. We adore you forever and always.

My memories of Marissa during theatre class in highschool are some of my fondest memories. I will miss her.
