Marjorie Katherine Hassett, a beloved, hard-working, and resilient woman, passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on October 21, 1926, in De Kalb County, Indiana, Marjorie was the cherished daughter of William and Gladys Nelson. She met and fell in love with Ora J. Hassett, an Army veteran who served during the occupation after WWII. Together, they married and raised three loving children: Alan, Debbie, and Kathie. In 1957, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they built a remarkable life.
During WWII, Marjorie trained and became a nurse, a career she pursued for many years. She worked for Banner when it was known as Good Samaritan, where her kind-hearted and generous nature made her a naturally gifted nurse, caring for those in need.
Marjorie and her family cherished the outdoors, spending many vacations at their cabin in Show Low, Arizona. She had a passion for travel and embarked on adventures whenever possible. Marjorie also enjoyed playing Bridge and seized any opportunity to engage in the game.
Marjorie was a deeply loved woman and will be equally missed. Her memory remains with her three loving children and her three grandchildren. She was an inspirational and kind-hearted presence in the lives of all who knew her.
