Michael Scott Peterson of Sun City, AZ went home to be with Jesus on April 29, 2022. Mike was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle, his sister Kathy and nephew Sam were with him at the hospital bedside when he passed. He was dearly loved by his family who will miss him very much. Just a year ago, his Mother Janet Peterson went to be with the Lord. Mike was there with her daily as she fought a heroic fight with cancer as well as his father who suffered from Alzheimer’s.
Mike was born in Geneva, Illinois on September 20, 1957 to Glenn & Janet (McGeachy) Peterson; he grew up in Batavia, Illinois and attended Batavia High School. He was a great baseball player who earned trophies, an awesome wrestler back in the day, who remained good friends with his coach/teacher Scott Willis. He was a sought-after Roofer Journeyman. During his career from the 70’s-90’s he covered many homes and businesses in the Fox Valley area.
He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bicycling. An award-winning Bass Fisherman; he taught his brother-in-law John how to catch large Bass and with Mike’s techniques it is impossible not to catch fish!
A local favored handyman, Mike took care of many properties. He enjoyed riding his bike and would go on extended bike trips in the Phoenix area and would share stories of his adventures; he enjoyed stopping to meet new people and visit his friend Bob Ryan who is also from Batavia.
He is survived by his father Glenn H. Peterson; his brothers William J. (Tracey) Peterson and Thomas H. Peterson; his sister Kathy Semerau (John); and an extended loving family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
