Pat was born on July 22, 1939 in Timken, Russell County, Kansas to John W. and Marie (Nepereny) Schank. She passed away on January 15, 2020.
As a child, Pat primarily lived in Russell County, Kansas. She graduated from Russell High School in 1957 and was at Emporia State University for one year.
She did secretarial work in Wichita, Kansas before moving to Chicago and working at AT&T.
Marriage brought her to Phoenix where she continued at AT&T until her retirement.
Her last years were spent in Sun City, Arizona.
She was a hard worker and a devoted friend and sister, aunt, and cousin.
She was also a wonderful and loving aunt to several families she “adopted,” and she supported many charities. Pat loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening.
Pat was a very independent woman who found it difficult to give up any of her independence as her health issues became more significant.
Above all, she was a devoted Christian who practiced unconditional love.
She was pre-deceased by her parents and baby brother, William.
She is survived by her sister, Karen Schank, of Great Bend, Kansas, as well as numerous cousins (who determinedly continued to call her Patsy), and nephews and nieces, especially the Fernando Moreno family (including Gabriel, Rachel, Ishmael, and Nathaniel) and their children.
She is surely in heaven fondly remembering the times she spent with
everyone…and enjoying Dairy Cream ice cream with the Moreno’s!
