Richard W Gilbreath, 77, of Sun City Arizona, passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 10, 2022. He was born on January 21, 1945 in Newport, Arkansas to George and Georgia (Wilson) Gilbreath. The family moved from Arkansas to Arizona in 1952. He married Sandra Rowe on February 14, 1982. She survives along with his daughter Kimberly Hildebrant of Glendale AZ, his son Douglas (Lynda) Gilbreath of Morton IL, Richard (Jackie) Lamango of Streator IL, Toni (Steve) DeScalfani of Phoenix and Curt Rowe of Casa Grande, brother Robert Gilbreath of Sun City, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, daughter Tonya Lamango and son Chad Rowe.
Richard served in the Navy where he started his career in computer science, specializing in writing computer code and management. He loved making people laugh. Richard often spoke about his travels with Sandy, other family members and friends traveling to Oceanside, CA and numerous other vacations around the country and abroad, especially loving the short time that Sandy and Richard lived in Chapala Mexico. A special memory of Richard would be when he referred to Sandy as "His Bride" even after 40 years of marriage.
A gathering of family and friends for Richard will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ.
