My grandpa was a man who was beloved by his children & respected by his friends, who loved his wife & always had a smile on his face. When I had the chance to see him at Christmas, he asked me about great-grand babies & my wedding day. He let us drive around in the golf carts & treated us all to lunch, it was a beautiful time. I’m happy knowing he got to live so close to the golf course & that he spent nearly every day doing what he loved. His laughter & spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the luck & pleasure to know him <3  I love you grandpa

Ron had the biggest smile.  He encouraged all around him to enjoy life and travel.  He had a strong work ethic and willingness to help, which he passed on to my step-dad, his son Doug.  I will always appreciate him welcoming me into his family. He will be missed.

Mr. McConnell was an avid golfer and a true gentleman.  I’ll always cherish the memories of playing golf with him in Phoenix during the Christmas holidays with Robyn and Doug.  The highlight of every trip was playing at his home course Falcon Dunes.  He lived a great life and brought happiness to everyone he met.  I’ll miss him, but I’m grateful for the times we shared.

Ron always greeted you with a smile. I don’t think I ever saw him without a giant grin and a tan :) Ron and Bonnie opened their arms to my sister and I over 30 years ago when our Mother Marilyn married their son Doug. I have fond memories of visiting them in Tennessee as a teenager. Ron’s huge heart and generosity were truly shown in the amazing loft he built me my freshman year of college. I thought he was building me a simple wood frame, he built me the coolest bed anyone had ever see at MSU. I was so lucky to have him in my life. And his smile and heart live on in his son, the best dad ever, Doug. 

My dad was a wonderful family man who loved my Mom and his children and grandchildren.  After living in Sterling Heights, MI for 20 years, he retired from the Civil Service and he and Mom moved to Crossville, TN.  

At that time, Dad got hooked on RV living, so they sold their house and hit the road.  For 3 years, they lived in their RV.  I remember Dad telling me, with a gleam in his eye, "I just couldn't wait to see what lay over that next hill!"

Uncle Will found an RV park in El Mirage, AZ, and that was where Mom and Dad settled in 1998 until now.  But every year until 2017, they would travel in the summer in their RV.

Dad loved to play golf.  He played several times a week, and he played all over the country.  Even after receiving two artificial
shoulders, two artificial hips, and two artificial knees, he still played.  He had 3 holes in one, the first occurring on Jan 3, 2003.

I made many trips to El Mirage to visit Mom and Dad, and Dad was always ready to play, either at Pueblo El Mirage, his beloved Falcon Dunes (he played there even before it opened to the public!), Falcon Club, and Peoria Pines.  As recently as last year I spent 13 days visiting, and he and I played golf on 11 of those days.

Dad was kind to every person he met; he had a ready smile and was quick to laugh.  He will be missed by all who knew him, and I will miss him greatly every day.  I love you Dad!!
