Samuel M. Bailey, Jr. at age 85,, went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2010 in Sun City, AZ. Sam was born on February 27, 1925 in the family home in Whiteface, TX to Samuel and Era Bailey. Sam grew up farming. On January 29, 1944 Sam married Glindeene Eskew, his wife of 66 years. Sam worked in the oil fields followed by fifty plus years of farming in both Texas and Arizona. Sam served on the Wilcox School Board and various local farming boards. In retirement years Sam and Glindeene relocated to the Phoenix area. Sam is survived by his wife Glindeene Bailey of Surprise, AZ., daughters Cydnee (Joe) Lundberg of Chandler, AZ., and Kelli (Mason) Hughes of Surprise, AZ., 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and a son Sam G. Bailey. All services will be held at Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. Viewing will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 6-8 PM and formal service will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010.
