Sophia McKinney, age 90, passed away on May 10, 2016 in Sun City, Arizona. She was born on April 24, 1926 in Oak Creek, Colorado to the late George S. and Verna E. Moraites. Sophia loved golfing, bowling, fishing, and traveling by air, sea, and RV! She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the Easter Star, the Arizona Ladies Golf Association, the Sun City North Ladies Golf Association, the Sun City Bowling Association, and the USBC.
Sophia is survived by her husband Charles E. McKinney, her daughter Cynthia D. Finken and her husband Richard A. Finken, her grandsons Leo R. McKinney, Brandon J. Finken, and Ryan A. Finken, as well as 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Daniel J. McKinney.
A Celebration of Life is planned for this summer in Colorado.
